TextDynamic is a royalty free word processing and reporting text control which can be embedded into applications to create documents in code, to offer the end user WYSIWYG editing features and to convert document formats, such as Rich Text Format (RTF) to HTML or as pdf creator to convert RTF or HTML to PDF.
The engine supports a wide range of advanced formatting features, such as tables, nested tables, numbering, style sheets, hyper-links, bookmarks, page references (for TOC), headers and footers, sections, images (with text wrap around) and optionally also footnotes and text boxes.
Also the "BASIS" edition supports true header and footer texts which can be edited in WYSIWYG manner. Such text are formatted texts placed on top or bottom of a range of pages. It is even possible to select certain texts for certain pages. Movable images can be part of a header text, if they are located outside the header area they serve as watermark.
Unlike most other text controls TextDynamic supports a split screen mode. Here two editors are displayed which edit the same text. This can be very useful to compare different parts of the same document. Of course it is possible to select an individual layout and zoom mode for each of the two editor windows.
TextDynamic allows you to embed images in the text. Once they are selected the editor will display a frame with sizer markers. The images can be resized and moved. If the image is "free floating" not only the frame, but also the anchor will be drawn when the image is selected.
Images which are linked to a paragraph can be placed anywhere under the start of the respective paragraph. The text can optionally wrap on the left, the right or both(!) sides of the image.
TextDynamic can be used to create, preview and print labels. Internally the formatting routine distributes the text on multiple label rectangles on a virtual label sheet - a manual page break let it start a new label. So it is possible to edit the text on the label sheet - for example remove some labels before everything is printed.
Mail-Merge is used to replace texts fields with data. You can for example use <NAME> in a letter and later this field will be replaced with the name of a person which has been looked up in a database. Usually this technique is used for mass mailing. TextDynamic uses special embedded text objects to mark fields which are not deleted by the merging process - so a different set of data can be merged in. The field objects which (they can be visible and hidden) hold the fieldname and an optional formula. When loaded or saved in RTF format fields use standard RTF tags. Using mail merge it is also possible to read(!) the current data and insert and replace images.
The unique ability to work with multiple documents in one text component makes it easy to append the current text to a document which holds multiple letters - before a different set of data is merged.
Optionally available is internal spell checking with the possibility to highlight the misspelled words.
TextDynamic comes with support for .NET 1.1, .NET 2.0 and with an OCX, for example to be used in VB6 or MS Access(TM) in one package at a very attractive price.
